Jerry Medford began his career as a teacher of business in the community college system. He worked in the furniture industry as Training Manager, Plant Manager, and VP, Material Control. In 1984 he began a career in construction when he bought into KCC Construction. Six years later, Medford Construction Company was incorporated and opened for business.
Jerry Medford says, “My son Carson and I actually started working together when he was just 15 years old. After graduating college at Atlantic Christian College with a four-year degree in business, Carson worked in recycling at BFI for three years and then came into the business full-time and learned all the trades.”
As Carson says, “I have painted, tiled, trimmed, landscaped, graded, stamped and stained concrete, framed, and sheetrocked. I know what I am looking at.” In 1997, Carson started his own company, Medford Builders, and operated that until 2011, when he returned to Medford Construction as VP of Field Operations to help expand the commercial side of the business.
